Delhi University (DU) Admission News

KNOW THE CUT OFF LIST AND OTHER IMPORTANT DATES

Students across the country are eagerly waiting for the DU cut off List 2017 after the result of 12th Class is out! The UG Programmes admissions in Delhi University are based on the basis of entrance exam & merit list.
The DU college admission procedure has already started on 29th May reminding students that you are going to a have a hard time in getting college admission as the DU cut off is going to be demanding and quite high. So getting admission in good DU colleges is not going to be easy for students having marks below 95%.

The DU college authorities asked those students who have scored above 95% to wait for special orientation classes whereas the ones below 95% were asked to sit in an auditorium where counsellors and lecturers kept repeating something the students were not willing to hear: to seek admission somewhere else if one has scored marks below 95 percent. Students were told to fill up forms for several courses as you never know what you will eventually get admission in, said the counsellor. Many students were disheartened to know what the DU authorities had to share.

Since the number of students above 95 percent has dipped to 2,326 from last year’s 2,927. Now it is going to be a big challenge for Delhi students from those who applying from across the country because the number of students having marks above 95 percent at All India level has risen up by 740 this year.

RP Rustagi, SRCC's officiating principal said, "The cut-off marks will increase, we get applications from all over the country." Jaswinder Singh, principal, SGTB Khalsa College, added more anxiety to students by saying: "There will be no let down this year; it will be exactly like last year, perhaps a little worse."

This year around 350,000 students will be applying for DU seats and Delhi University has 56,000 seats in UG programmes. The applicants are more than four times the number than the last year count.

The DU will announce its first and second cut-off list in the month of June 2017. The third cut-off list will be announced in June/July. The fifth & sixth cut off list will be declared in July. Depending on the seat availability in colleges, DU will announce the remaining cut off lists.
