Life Beyond Study IIT Kanpur

 Green campus of IIT Kanpur

IITs Kanpur is the "dreamland" for all the aspiring engineers. Getting admission in IIT Kanpur - one of the country's most prestigious institutions, is a great achievement in itself for students. The faculties in this institution are top notch and so are the facilities provided to its students. Students get fantasized with the life at IIT Kanpur. The sprawling lush green campus of IIT Kanpur will make you in constant synchronicity with nature.

Apart from the studies, the culture at the sprawling green campus is known for the "Family Culture". The guides of the students are addressed as “baapu” or “amma” by their respective “bachche” (students). The baapu of your baapu is your “nana” and the same thing goes with the girls too. This is the reason why students easily get assimilated into this culture and feel like another home away from home.

In the middle of highly hectic study schedules, students of IIT-K find some time to get along with friends at the IIT Kanpur campus. The most famous hangout places in the campus are OAT - Open Air Theatre – where you can watch movies with your students, CCD (Cafe Coffee Day) where you can go with your coffee date, and MT - the "MT ki chai" is quite popular in the campus. Even the PG halls' (hostels) canteens, located near the lawn, are really good where one can enjoy tasty food at reasonable costs. Even very early mornings, students could be seen taking sips of tea and coffee in the canteen. So, you will be fully spoil for choice.

At the end of four years, students won't remember whether they got that obligatory GPL or not, but the friend’s sadistic laughter and time spent here with the friends is what they cherish for the rest of the life. For More Articles visit us at www.meetcareer.com

IIT JEE Need Help to crack

Know 3 Steps Which Can Easily Land An Average Student In IIT

“Where there is a will, there is a way” is an old proverb which stands true that we all can easily achieve our goals if we have strong will power. So, whether you are an average student or a topper in your class, if you have strong willpower and if you put all effort to get admission to an IIT college, you can surely crack the IIT JEE.

As we know that IIT entrance is considered as a tough exam and hence it requires a great deal of attention and hard work to clear the IIT JEE entrance test. It is advisable that aspirants should start the preparation early for instance from class 11 and try to get the complete syllabus of IIT JEE and all the relevant course material. Here are following steps which help even an average student to crack the IIT JEE.

Stay focused towards your goal: No matter what your current class position is, if you are focused on your goal, you can do it by putting all effort. It would be better if you cut yourself out from all sorts of distractions like TV, trolling the internet, cell phone chats. After all, it is just a matter of two years effort that can easily land you a desirable position in an IIT.

Self-confidence: It is important for you to build confidence in your own abilities. Do not construct any negative thoughts in your mind. It is your self-confidence that will help you to crack IIT JEE which is a dream of many.

Make a time-table: Before starting your preparation for the IIT JEE entrance exam, make a time table and try to stick with it. In a time-table, give proper slot (equal number of hours for the preparation) to each subject. Having time-table is important because if you study only one subject for a few weeks and then jump on other subjects, then it will definitely leave you out of touch with the topics which you have learned a few weeks before.

Above mentioned steps will help you to get through the IIT JEE entrance exam, but always remember there is no substitute for hard work. So never underestimate the power of HARD WORK.For More Information visit us at www.meetcareer.com

5 Questions To Ask Before Applying To IIT

5 QUESTIONS

5 QUESTIONS TO ASK BEFORE APPLYING TO IIT

Engineering is one of the most preferred options after Class 12 and considered as one of the most prestigious professions in India. It is commonly observed that those students who opt for PCM stream after Class 10 generally aim to get into the renowned Indian Institute of Technology.

Every year, a million engineering aspirants appear for the IIT-JEE (Joint Entrance Examination), out of which about 10,000 qualify one of the toughest entrance examinations. However, most of the candidates who join IIT have no idea of what exactly IIT holds for them in the coming four years. They think that securing a seat in the Indian Institute of Technology is a PASSPORT TO SUCCESS.

Those candidates, who have cleared IIT-JEE, have several questions in their mind. These questions range from a selection of specific branch in IIT or what IIT holds in the next future or some are concerned about ragging. Though it is difficult to cover all the queries, but we shall address a few common queries in this article:

Candidate 1: Why would banks recruit IIT students from the branch of Mechanical Engineering?
There are many MNC banks who have started to set their base in our country. Most of them prefer IIT graduates because they have a strong base in engineering mathematics which helps them in understanding quantitative finance better than other graduates.

Candidate 2: I want to pursue sports along with the studies. As I have qualified in JEE, will there be enough opportunities for sports?
Those students who are studying in IIT are a pretty mixture of studious as well as multi-talented students. One gets an opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities of one’s choice. IITs take part in sports festivals organized by IITs as well as other institutes. There are many candidates who had excelled at State and national level while studying in IITs.

Candidate 3: I have heard that stress level at IITs is higher than at other engineering institutes. Is this true?
Whichever course you will select, there is some kind of academic pressure and it is good for you because it will drive you to work hard. When you work hard, it's possible to achieve success in your field. In case, if you feel any kind of stress, almost all the IITs have professional counsellors who help you to deal with your problems in the best possible manner.

Candidate 4: I have heard that the first year at IITs is a tough one because of ragging. What if some senior approaches us?
All IITs have a strict no-ragging policy. But sometimes a few seniors might ask you to perform on a song and there is no harm in doing it sportingly. Always treat it as an ice-breaker rather than ragging. It helps you to interact with people you met recently. It allows the new students to interact with their seniors easily and get to know each other well.

GATE? Why Should Students Choose To Appear For...

GATE is an all-India test to measure the caliber of the students who wish to pursue engineering. The GATE score is widely accepted by institutes and companies nationwide and abroad. Although the rising number of aspirants appearing for GATE has shown a significant jump of more than 300% since 2010, still some students have a misconception that this exam is for M.E. / M.Tech students and it finally leads to a teaching career only.
To remove this misconception and to motivate students appearing for GATE, this article focuses on outlining why students should choose this test. They are:
Job-assurance: A number of public sector companies such as BHEL, Indian Oil Corporation, NTPC, BPCL, HPCL and others consider the GATE score of the candidates during the selection process. A high GATE score surely attracts a lucrative package with a bright future ahead for the candidate.

Accepted by Foreign universities: A number of foreign universities in Singapore and Germany accept the GATE score for selecting candidates for various PG courses. Universities like NTU and NUS offer few competitive and top-notch programs to candidates worldwide.

High stipends and attractive scholarships: Few renowned institutes like BARC consider GATE score card before offering various courses to the candidates. They award high stipends and attractive scholarships to boost the morale of the candidates.

Strong technical knowledge: Taking this test provides a technical edge to the candidates over others during interviews. They gain expertise in their subjects of interest and build a strong technical knowledge base. A high GATE score provides an opportunity to the students who aspire to join reputed institutes like IITs, IIITs or NIT for their Master’s degree.

GATE basically aims to evaluate the understanding of the engineering concepts along with managerial skills of the aspirants. To score a high percentile one must always remain motivated, focused, determined and stay away from deviations. A good GATE score opens up a number of opportunities for candidates both academically and professionally. For More @ www.meetcareer.com

Confuse IIT OR IISC?

Which is better IIT OR IISC...?

Consider yourself lucky if you have scored a good All India Rank (AIR) as per the criteria laid down by top-notch institutes. Qualified the exam with a high score and getting a call from IIT’s and IISc is in itself a great achievement, but this shouldn’t stop you from aspiring for more. The pressure which haunts every student is which college to choose to pursue his/her education. Will an IIT be better or should I go for a dual degree or research work at IISc? Well, below is an analysis which will help you to evaluate both the institutes and choose accordingly.

Purpose of formation: IITs can be called as the institutes which focus on producing core technical manpower for the industry whereas IISc emphasizes on producing candidates who are interested in conducting core research work. Thus the purpose of their establishment is completely different.

Strength of students: At IITs, thousands of students are offered a number of UG and PG courses according to their capability and background. While IISc offers M.Tech or M.Sc. programs to candidates to nurture their scientific competence. Candidates enrolled for such high-end research work are generally less in number.

Research opportunities: At IISc one can come across professors or laureates from science background that may be Ph.D. holders or may have been involved in some kind of significant research work. Due to the presence of such qualified faculties, the labs and workshops at IISc hold a lot of importance. They also have research collaborations with universities worldwide which provide IISc an edge over IIT.

Placements: Since IISc is the place to pursue research in science, the placements are from top-notch core companies who offer a high package with high positions is a common sight. In IITs other than the core companies, there are a number of other companies offering various roles in consulting, finance, marking FMCG, banking firms to students at good packages across industries.

Always choose the right institute as per your goal. It is a known fact that to crack the entrance exam for such elite institutes is a great achievement in itself and therefore before one takes a final decision it is important to gather requisite knowledge. For more articles read us at www.meetcareer.com

Know How 1 Percent Rule Will Help You Achieve Goals Faster

KNOW HOW 1 PERCENT RULE WILL HELP YOU ACHIEVE GOALS FASTER

How would it be if you could get what you want just in a blink of an eye? Of course, it would feel great as then we don’t have to whine about things.
But it doesn’t work this way in reality.

Change is the law of nature. Even if we want to get into a shape, we have to commit to change diets, regular exercise and what not, and then if we want a promotion, change work priorities, do hard work, meet deadlines etc.

When “time” factor strikes our mind, we get impatient and even give up sometimes because the situation becomes so difficult and we feel like there is no scope for improvement.

So, the question is how to toggle our mindset?

The answer is simple “just do 1% better every day.” Now, what does this 1% a day mean? Easy! Get a little better each day. Now 1% each day means 365% a year!

When you put it like 365% better each year, if feels like those small changes are worth it! Just imagine putting minimal efforts on daily basis can yield a colossal output.

Let’s say, there is a project going on in the office that seems to be moving slowly and giving less output. So, the next morning you can come up with a new project or idea that could make work more efficient. Then the following day gets the feedback of your idea from your colleagues and seniors and keeps working hard on the project each day. Surely the efforts would take months or even years to be recognised but after adding 1% input everyday you will see that the project has come out with flying colours after years. Also, you will see a major improvement in yourself. In the process of modifying the project, you will realise that you have tailored yourself.
Don’t focus on what would be the end or how much time it will take to go there, rather start focusing on that 1% which you are adding to everyday.
In the long run, you will experience a different you, as long as you will stick to it! For More information visit us at www.meetcareer.com
